Jimmy has been a professional musician for over 50 years, performing in venues across the U.S. and internationally. Locally, he plays at Bailey’s Lounge in the Grand Vista Hotel and at Enzo’s Ristorante Italiano. His musical repertoire is diverse, including classic pop, blues, jazz and more.


Javier de los Santos

10:30 am | Classical Guitar

Javier de los Santos started his formal music education with Francisco Javier Muro Guevara. He has played with the Apollo Chamber Players, Pepe Romero and the symphony orchestras of Grand Junction and Boulder. Javier founded Mariachi San Jose and serves as the president and artistic director of the Western Colorado Classical Guitar Society. He teaches music and guitar at Independence Academy and Colorado Mesa University.

 


 

King ‘n Trio

12:00 pm | Folk/Americana

Since its inception in 2001, the King ’n Trio has entertained audiences with their enthusiastic toe-tapping singalongs. Band members Chris Unfug, Merritt Kinsey, Russ Williams and Kelly Anderson are members of the Grand Junction Rotary Club and have raised over $200,000 to date for Rotary Foundation and other charitable projects. Proceeds from their five CDs are also part of the band’s fundraising efforts.

Join us in applauding these local seniors for their compassionate contributions during a special ceremony, where we’ll also announce the reader-selected Volunteer of the Year.

 


Donny Morales

Donny Morales, a vocalist, guitarist and harmonica player from Montrose, has been a staple in the Western Slope music scene for over 20 years. In 2021, BEACON readers honored him as the Best Musician in the BEACON Best Awards for Montrose and Delta.

Canyon Grand Barbershop Quartet

9:00 am | Barbershop A Cappella

This senior teaching quartet from the Bookcliff Barbershop Harmony Chorus consists of George Humfeld (tenor), Olyn Carlson (lead), Dave Woodward (bass) and Bob Labig (baritone). They strive to enrich the lives of everyone they meet with their special brand of harmony.

 


Peggy Malone

10:00 am | Country

Armed with her stick horses and maracas, Peggy Malone’s performances have engaged audiences for over 50 years. She has been recognized with multiple awards from the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame and even won a Patsy Cline sing-alike contest.

 

 


Robin Freed & Harps In Motion Ensemble

11:00 am | Harps

Robin Freed has played harps for over 15 years. She currently operates Harps and Hammers Music Studio in Montrose and teaches both private and group classes. The majority of her students are over 60 years old.

Big Swig

Formed in 2023, Big Swig is a dynamic trio consisting of guitarists Nathan Wirtz and John Nowak with Travis Reed on bass. They began to tailor their sets to Palisade’s winery culture, securing bookings at several local wineries. The band’s name, Big Swig, was chosen collectively in January 2024, and the band celebrated their first anniversary in March. The band is set to bring their unique blend of music and energy to BeaconFest, promising an unforgettable experience.
