Ready for a good time?
BeaconFest, organized by the BEACON Senior News, is a day of good fun and practical information for Western Colorado’s boomers and seniors. Thanks to our show sponsors, volunteers, entertainers, vendors and most importantly, you—our guests—the event is always a tremendous success.
Each April, more than 2,500 people attend the Grand Junction BeaconFest at Two Rivers Convention Center. We do it all over again in September, when 1,200-plus attendees join us for the Montrose-Delta BeaconFest, held at the Montrose Pavilion.
What happens at BeaconFest?
Admission to BeaconFest is free, which is hard to believe when you see everything inside the door. Get ready to immerse yourself in a day full of events and information about resources available to you in an environment crafted especially for seniors, boomers and their families.
Food and entertainment
Local restaurants provide food to fuel our guests throughout the day as they listen to great, live music performed by local musicians. We’ve had everything from bagels to barbecue, gospel to guitar (not to mention yodeling and bagpipes).
We schedule hour-long seminars all day long to provide you with a host of educational presentations covering topics relevant to your life. Past seminars have discussed things like downsizing, bereavement, computer assistance, estate planning, assistive medical technology, fraud prevention and more.
If the seminars, live entertainment and vendor booths aren’t enough, BeaconFest attendees have the chance to win thousands of dollars’ worth of door prizes every 30 minutes. We love giveaways, and you have the chance to receive fabulous prizes such as vacation packages to Glenwood Springs, a hotel stay and dinner at Century Casino, La-Z-Boy living room furniture and gift cards to your favorite local restaurants.
Between exciting raffles, peruse the dozens of booths staffed by health care providers, nonprofit organizations and businesses large and small. We make sure to include the products and services that will help you the most as you age with style.
